City of London elections are unique. Eligible voters may not realise they are able to take part and it is crucial to make sure we reach as many City residents and workers as possible. You can help with this important work.
We’ve created this toolkit to make it as easy as possible for anyone to promote voter registration and the upcoming City elections.
These flexible resources can be used throughout the registration period (August 2024 – November 2024). We have included tailored resources for workplaces, building managers and developers, and residential voters and associations.
We hope you will find this useful. If you have any questions or requests, please get in touch: vote@cityoflondon.gov.uk
Included in this toolkit:
- Posters
- Graphics
- Written material for workplaces, commercial building managers, and residential buildings/associations.

Subject: Your right to vote in City of London elections
Dear colleague,
As an organisation located in the City of London, we have a real stake in ensuring this remains one of the best places to work, live, and visit in the world.
The City of London is unique. City workers, not just residents, can vote in elections. This makes sure workers’ priorities get heard loud and clear, and helps the Square Mile remain one of the best places to work in the world. In March 2025, City voters will elect 100 new Common Councillors across 25 local wards to represent their interests.
Not only does the City of London Corporation look after local services such as roads, rubbish collection, planning and the police - they also support and promote City businesses in the UK and internationally, and run a range of services across London from academies and social housing to the Barbican Centre and Hampstead Heath.
Our organisation is eligible to nominate [NUMBER] voters by 30th November, which can include long-term contractors, part-time workers, agency staff, and hybrid employees. That’s why we’re asking you to come forward as one of our voters to represent the views and interests of our colleagues, our organisation and the wider sector. This is an opportunity for us to showcase our diversity and engage with City life.
If you are interested in registering to vote, please reply to me with your name and nationality – you must be a qualifying UK, EU or Commonwealth citizen in order to vote. This doesn’t affect your registration at your home address unless you live in the City of London.
If you have any further questions, please contact the City of London Elections team on electoralservices@cityoflondon.gov.uk.
Best wishes,
